Apprentice Landscaping and Horticulture Operative – Location: City Park, The Droveway, Brighton and Hove, Hove BN3 7PY. Salary: £18,000. Start Date: ASAP.

What you’ll be doing
- Developing core skills and knowledge in horticulture and landscape maintenance, including grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, clearing leaves, spraying, litter picking, and operating both hand tools and powered horticultural machinery.
- Collaborating with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience across a range of outdoor environments.
- Delivering additional services during winter months, such as gritting and clearing snow.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task.
- Reporting relevant information regarding site hazards to management and operating a range of vehicles, machinery, and equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Undertaking additional training as required to continually develop your skills.
Training and qualifications
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative qualification with Grey Seal Academy, which typically takes 24 months to complete. You will be fully supported by our partners to achieve this qualification, with 1-to-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and access to a team of experts for guidance and technical knowledge at your office.
