To begin a career in structural steel detailing by supporting the technical team in producing drawings and documentation for fabrication and installation. This role is designed for a school leaver with A‑levels who is keen to develop technical, engineering, and construction skills through structured training and on‑the‑job learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to read and interpret general arrangement drawings, specifications, and basic structural details with guidance from senior team members.
- Assist in producing fabrication drawings, call‑offs, and mark‑up drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla.
- Carry out drawing amendments and updates under supervision to reflect approved changes.
- Support the detailing team with document control, drawing issue registers, and project administration tasks.
- Develop an understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards, and relevant legislation.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and escalate queries or errors promptly.
- Assist with investigations into site or fabrication queries where required.
- Follow company Health, Safety & Environment (H.S.E.) policies at all times.
- Commit to ongoing training and development, including formal qualifications where applicable.
