Working predominantly from our Birmingham City Centre office in an office flexible role as Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for optimising food and drink sales and profit of the brands and division in which you are aligned. Within your remit, you will deliver and advise on the management of menu pricing, the evaluation of promotional activity and you will also influence product ranges, all of which will be driven via successful engagement and strong stakeholder management with the aligned Leadership teams.

The Opportunity – Pricing Manager

  • Responsible for the development of food and drink price changes, throughout both food menu and drinks range change cycles.
  • Attend food and drink range meetings with the Brand Executive team to sample new ranges, giving recommendations on the actions that are most likely to deliver a brand’s food and drink margin targets. Consult Heads of Pricing to ensure proposals follow best practice.
  • Evaluate all key pricing and menu activity influencing brand performance, such as food menu changes and drinks range changes.
  • Challenge the division to take corrective action where necessary.
  • In collaboration with the Brand Marketing teams, propose and evaluate all promotional activity.
  • Build a strong relationship with Brand Marketing teams and liaise with them on day-to-day pricing and promotional requests.
  • Actively engage with the Heads of Pricing to ensure company alignment and support for major activity, and work closely with all pricing colleagues in order to consistently deliver best practice pricing.
  • Utilise the latest data on competitor activity and consumer insight, using this to influence brand and promotion development accordingly.
  • Play a key role in the formation of Brand Plans, influencing the Brand Leadership team on pricing and promotional strategy.
  • Responsible for providing price and margin forecasts for use by Finance Managers and Heads of Pricing in all budgeting and projection work, and ongoing ownership thereafter highlighting both opportunities and risks to achieving brand financial targets. Working with Heads of Pricing to drive any corrective action required.
  • Promote financial best practice by working with Finance and non-Finance colleagues and live the Brand Finance PRIDE values.

What you’ll need to bring to the Pricing Manager role…

  • A professional accountancy qualification is highly desirable, but not essential
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a relevant, or similar role, ideally in a large multi-layer organisation
  • Proven stakeholder management expertise with excellent communication skills
  • Sound commercial judgement and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability and drive to meet deadlines, turning work round quickly and accurately
  • Clear and professional verbal and non-verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Personal courage to challenge performance
