The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role. The role of Estimator Fit-Out will involve:
- Estimator position dealing with a range of commercial construction projects including fit-out, strip-out and refurb.
- Typical projects include full turnkey solutions across medical, educational and leisure sectors.
- Requirement to visit sites across the UK to conduct site surveys, attend project meetings and gather information required for estimating.
- Interpreting technical drawings, generating & following up quotations.
- Negotiating with clients, project managers, quantity surveyors and internal estimating team.
- Taking details from drawings to produce BOQs allowing for a timely return of quotations for customer deadlines.
- Keeping good documentation of tenders and quotations on internal database.
- Contacting customers, dealing with queries and providing additional technical information.
- Working on projects ranging in value from £5000 to circa £5m+.
The ideal applicant will be an Estimator Fit-Out with:
- Must have Estimating experience within Fit-Out or closely related.
- Would be open to someone within strip-out, refurb, new build or joinery.
- Highly advantageous to have understanding of construction contracts and the ability to read and interpret contractual documentation.
- Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes, materials and costs.
- Stable career, highly organised with good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
