The role of the Estimator Aluminium Glazing Systems will involve:
- Producing estimates for the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors and facades
- Reviewing tender documents and producing high quality tender returns
- Utilising specialist estimating software to determine material costs
- Negotiating prices with supply chain and gathering quotations for projects
- Liaising and building relationships with main contractors throughout the project and beyond
- Ensuring that the internal CRM system is regularly updated
- Preparing handover documents for the contracts department, once a project has been secured
- Attending pre and post tender meetings as and when required
- Estimating for projects ranging in value from £100k to circa £10m
- Prioritising own workload to ensure deadlines are met
The ideal applicant will have:
- 2+ years estimating experience within the UK construction industry
- A strong background dealing with architectural glazing, curtain walling, fire rated glazing & structural glazing
- Experience with Logikal, Kawneer, Metal Technology, AluProf and Technal systems
- Strong ability to conduct take offs
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
