The role of the Mechanical Design Engineer Lifting Systems will involve:
Mechanical Design Engineer dealing with the manufacture of hoisting equipment, crane systems, lifting clamps, winches & material handling solutions
Delivering accurate engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Designing mechanical components and develop complete assemblies using SolidWorks
Creating new manufacturing drawings whilst also reviewing and updating current drawings
Ensuring products and drawings are compliant to industry standards
Supporting the prototyping, testing and validation phases of new product development
Manage materials and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP, including scheduling, usage tracking, cost control, and inventory oversight
Support Engineering and Operations in the effective management and maintenance of the Quality Assurance system
Being mindful of Kaizen / continuous improvement (CI) at all times
May be required to get hands on with maintenance of the manufacturing site
The ideal applicant will be a Mechanical Design Engineer Lifting Systems with:
Must have SolidWorks or related design experience within a manufacturing environment
Must have Mechanical Engineer degree (BEng, BSME, MEng, MME, IMechE) or extensive time served experience
Ideally will have experience dealing with of hoisting equipment, crane systems, lifting clamps, winches, material handling solutions, automotive, aerospace, nuclear, heavy plant, machinery, manufacturing equipment
Ability to complete relevant mechanical engineering calculations
IT literate (SAP & Microsoft 365)
Physically fit as the role will required a hands on approach
Excellent communication skills across all levels
