The role of the Facade Designer Building Envelope will involve:
- Dealing with the design process from concept to construction across curtain walling, windows, doors, cladding, SFS, glazing, and metalwork.
- Being the key point of contact from architect to the internal team.
- Producing accurate 2D & 3D design, GA, interface, fixing, and fabrication drawings in line with specifications and regulations.
- Preparing technical submittals, compliance documentation, and material schedules.
- Reviewing contract and project documentation to confirm design scope and deliverables.
- Coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal design, commercial, manufacturing, and site teams.
- Supporting installation, resolving site queries, issuing as-built drawings, and maintaining design records.
- Working with AutoCAD on projects ranging from £500k up to £8m.
The ideal applicant will be a Facade Designer Building Envelope with:
- Experience as a Façade Engineer or Designer or working within the building envelope sectors (cladding, glazing, rainscreen, curtain wall, etc.).
- Professional experience with AutoCAD or Revit.
- Ideally an understanding of BIM modelling and systems.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant façade performance standards.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office).
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
