The role of Estimator Commercial Construction will involve:
- Estimator position dealing with a range of commercial construction projects including fit-out, strip-out and refurb
- Interpreting technical drawings, generating & following up quotations
- Estimating for a range of commercial projects such as housing associations, shopping centres, within the education sector and on light industrial projects
- Negotiating with clients, project managers, quantity surveyors and internal estimating team
- Producing formal quotations to customers
- Taking details from drawings to produce BOQs allowing for a timely return of quotations for customer deadlines
- Keeping good documentation of tenders and quotations on internal database
- Contacting customers, dealing with queries and providing additional technical information
- Working on projects ranging in value from £250k to circa £2m+
The ideal applicant will be an Estimator Commercial Construction with:
- 5-10 years estimating within the commercial construction industry
- First principle estimating experience
- Open to someone within strip-out, refurb, fit-out, new build
- Good technical knowledge and understanding of industry processes, materials and costs
- Ideally have a quantity surveying degree
- Stable career, highly organised with good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
