The role of the Estimator & Bid Specialist Building Envelope will involve:
- Dealing with the estimating and bid process from across curtain walling, windows, doors, cladding, SFS, glazing, and metal work.
- Preparing accurate and competitive faade tenders, including detailed quantity take-offs, cost plans, risk allowances, and structured bid submissions.
- Managing end-to-end tender processes, coordinating internal teams (design, commercial, procurement, operations) to ensure timely and compliant submissions.
- Engaging and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, benchmarking quotations to ensure commercial competitiveness and minimise risk.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities, technical risks, scope gaps, and commercial considerations to strengthen bid strategy and profitability.
- Supporting post-tender negotiations and contract handover, ensuring all assumptions, exclusions, risks, and procurement strategies are clearly documented and communicated.
The ideal applicant will be an Estimator & Bid Specialist Building Envelope with:
- 3+ years experience estimating faade systems or related such as cladding systems, curtain walling, windows and doors, architectural metalwork, SFS and associated secondary steel or support systems.
- Proven experience working with clients tendering and managing bids.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant faade performance standards.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office).
- Excellent planning, organisation, time management skills.
