The role of the Area Sales Manager – Outdoor Playground Equipment will involve:
- Field based position, selling the design, manufacture and install of outdoor playground equipment
- Selling into local authorities, but also schools & nurseries, parish councils, landscape architects and leisure operators
- 70% new business within known/ existing relationships
- 30% new business development, calling on customer’s sites, conducting surveys etc. (sales into schools and community groups tends to be more new business driven)
- Typically 4 appointments per day, 4 days a week (one day working from home/ admin)
- Inheriting a warm area
- Average project size of circa £15,000
- Circa £1.5m revenue target
- Lots of sales support including field site visits with the Head of Sales
- Appointments set for you by internal co-ordinators
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Outdoor Playground Equipment with:
- 3 years+ field sales experience with a track record of exceeding targets
- Ideally some formal structured sales training
- Previous experience working within the outdoor playground equipment sector is not required but may be advantageous
- Highly motivated with tonnes of energy and enthusiasm
- Any previous experience of selling into local authorities, schools & nurseries, parish councils, landscape architects or leisure operators may be advantageous
- Knowledge of outdoor playground equipment is not required as full product training will be provided
- Not afraid to put the hours in!
- Not job hoppers/ journey men
- Experience of identifying new opportunities coupled with excellent account management capability
- Computer literate
