Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Waterproofing and Flat Roofing/EPDM systems
Industry: Refurbishment, Waterproofing, Roofing Contractors, Roofing Installers, Flat Roofing, Roofing Membrane, Polyurethane Technology, Rubber Roof, Single Ply, Reinforced EPDM Membrane
Area: Greater London, Anglia, Northern Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Kent
Remuneration: £45,000‑£50,000 base salary + 25% bonus
Benefits: Fully expensed hybrid car & full benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Field sales role selling a distributed range of roof waterproofing systems and reinforced EPDM membranes
- Sell to roofing contractors and installers, typically on small to medium sized commercial refurbishment projects (project sizes £10,000‑£100,000, 200‑1,000 m²)
- Generate £2 m in revenue with a target growth of 10 %
- Recruit a minimum of 5 new contractors per quarter with at least £10,000 spend per annum
- Reinstate a declining area by building relationships with SRI contractor installers and upselling projects
- Re‑activate dormant accounts and develop new accounts via cold calling
- Calculate material costings on all projects under 100 m²
- Spend 4 days on the road and 1 day admin per week, meeting KPIs
- Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing roofing contractor accounts
- Attend trade shows and seminars as required
Qualifications & Key Attributes
- Proven field sales track record within the construction industry
- Ability to sell to contractors, preferably waterproofing or roofing associated contractors
- Experience with flat roofing / single ply or waterproofing sales advantageous but not essential
- Autonomous yet a team player
- Existing contacts within roofing contractors/roofing installers advantageous
- High energy, strong commercial acumen, up‑hungry sales attitude
- Competent in quotations, take‑offs and CRM systems
- Comfortable working on ladders onto roofs
- Excellent account management skills, eager to bring in new SRI contractors
- Collaborates well with sales, technical team, Key Account Manager and Sales Director
- Well‑organised and works methodically
