The role of the Area Sales Manager Tiles and Kitchen Worktops will involve:
Field sales role selling a manufactured range of wall & floor ceramic tiles, and large formatslabs for kitchen worktops
40% of your time managing and developing the established tile business in the South East which consists of circa 30 tile distributors who service customers buying direct from Spain (80% of turnover, approx. £750,000) and another 30-35 independent bathroom retailers, where customers buy from UK subsidiary ( another £350,000 turnover)
60% of your time new business development role, growing a small number of 3-4 stonemasons/ worktop fabricators to achieve a target at circa £250,000 year one of £500,000 year Two
Circa 15 customer visits per week
Overnight stays when required, and travel 3-4 times a year to Spain and Italy
Assisting with merchandising, training, developing and nurturing bathroom retailers as required
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Porcelain and Ceramic Tiles with:
Must have either tile or kitchen worktops field sales experience
2 years+ field sales experience
Prior experience of having sold into tile distributors, merchants, retail showrooms, stonemasons or worktop fabricators
Hardworking
Honest
Willing to travel/ stay overnight when required
Professional and prepared with strong organisation and territory management capability
Prepared to do high UK mileage and happy to travel abroad when required
