The role of the Area Sales Manager – Precast Concrete Drainage products will involve:
- Field sales position selling a manufactured range of precast concrete drainage products such as Manhole Rings, Concrete Pipes, Tunnelling Pipes, Head Walls, Cattle Slats, Precast Cubicle Beds, Septic Tanks, Small Sewage Treatment Works & General Precast Concrete Products.
- 60% of your time stimulating demand for products with various contractors such as waste water treatment contractors, sewage contractors, civil engineering contractors, housebuilder developers and end user groundwork contractors.
- 30% of your time managing relationships with national builders merchants and civil & drainage merchants.
- 10% of your time with consulting engineers, local water authorities etc.
- Utilising internal sales team who manage contracts on a day to day basis, do all of your pricing and designs.
- Report all sales activity on CRM system, utilising Glenigan leads etc.
- Inheriting an area with a current turnover of circa £3-4m (without dedicated field sales representation), you will be tasked with growing the area to circa £5m.
- Targeting projects typically between £5,000-£500,000.
- 50% account management position, 50% new business development.
The ideal applicant will have experience with Precast Concrete Drainage products:
- Ideally worked for a manufacturer selling into civil engineering contractors, end user groundwork contractors, housebuilder developers, waste water treatment contractors or sewage contractors and back-sold through merchants.
- Also open to a track record in sales, having either worked in a national builders merchants and civil & drainage merchants.
- Must understand the construction process and be contractor sales led.
- Ideally some associated knowledge of precast concrete drainage products such as pre-form bases, concrete pipes, spigot and socket pipes, manhole rings, catchpits, Headwalls, Gullies, tunnelling, shaft precast products, jacking pipes, sewage treatment systems or caisson chambers.
- Open to civil, drainage, plumbing and other associated heavyside building product backgrounds.
- Account management and new business development skills.
- Need to earn with responsibilities and core values.
