The role of the Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant Sales will involve:
- Field sales role, selling a distributed range of construction plant sales, predominantly; excavators, dumpers and rollers but also concrete/rock breakers and portable generators.
- Predominantly selling into ground workers and civil engineering contractors, but also plant and tool hire companies and hire retailers as well as landscaping contractors.
- Targeted to bring in circa £5-7m (mini-midi excavators £17-20k, but up to 8 tonne excavators up to £75,000).
- Typically you will target deals up to 10 machines, as the Managing Director manages the key accounts.
- Established area, but no dedicated field sales resource for the last 6 months, so initially the role will be new business and re-introductions.
- Prepare quotes, weekly sales reports and order confirmations.
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Construction Plant Sales with:
- Proven track record in construction/plant sales sector.
- Ideally some knowledge of plant machinery such as; excavators, dumpers, rollers etc.
- Open to other construction products sold into a similar customer base; ground workers and civil engineering contractors, but also plant and tool hire companies and hire retailers as well as landscaping contractors.
- Ability to work independently.
- Pro-active new business minded.
- Willingness to travel.
- Resilient and comfortable dealing with contractors and site environments.
