The role of the Specification Sales Manager will involve:

  • Field sales position, promoting a manufactured range of aluminium systems (faade systems, curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows).
  • 70% of your time providing support to architectural practices and faade consultants, assisting with proposals and specifications, providing information etc. whilst also managing main contractor relationships to protect the specifications.
  • 30% of your time account managing 8-10 core aluminium fabricator/installer accounts (5 actively spending) with a view to growing this number by 7-8 next year.
  • Inheriting an area with a turnover of circa £1m.
  • Tasked with achieving £1.5m sales in the next full sales year.
  • Average order value to our client (metal) £150,000-£500,000 (Project sizes £8m-£10m).
  • Access to a healthy volume of inbound enquiries.
  • Typical projects include unit factories, small developments; targeting larger projects within education, high rise residential, commercial office, healthcare and education.

The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager with:

  • Ideally field sales experience within an aluminium system house or design/estimating experience within an aluminium fabricator.
  • Open to any glazing, fenestration or curtain wall sales experience either through specification to architects and main contractors or fabricator/installers.
  • Architectural network is highly desirable along with faade consultants.
  • Roofing, cladding, rainscreen and faade backgrounds may all be of interest.
  • Open to both field sales and sales estimating experience.
  • Hungry new business attitude.
  • Technical aptitude although full training will be provided.
  • IT literate, CRM proficient.
  • Specific knowledge of curtain walling and aluminium doors & windows is not essential but may be useful.
  • Ability to sell on quality over price.
