The role of the Production Manager – Bespoke Joinery / Hardwood Flooring will involve:
- Focusing on a high end manufactured range of hardwood flooring such as parquetry, marquetry, antique and boarded floors.
- Managing and overseeing the production personnel to achieve maximum production efficiency (team of 10).
- Ensuring all work is carried out to required quality standards and within deadlines.
- Ensuring that all regulations, policies and health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Maintaining timber inventory levels and other required stock.
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and other departments to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues or escalating complex problems as needed.
- Identifying areas of the production line that need improving to increase productivity.
- Providing regular feedback to the workforce around performance.
The ideal applicant will have:
- Experience working in a similar production/workshop environment dealing with timber engineering, wooden flooring, bespoke joinery, or furniture.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Sound technical understanding of the machinery used (sanders, laser cutters, cross cut saws etc).
- High levels of attention to detail and organisation.
- Ideally experience on the tools and worked up to supervisor/manager level.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency with workshop management software and Microsoft Office tools.
