Job Title: Specification Account Manager Wood Repair Resins and Fillers
Industry: Quantity Surveyors, Architects, Specifiers, Heritage Companies, Property Management Companies, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Joinery Sub-Contractors, Painting & Decorating Merchants, and General Builders Merchants
Area to be covered: North, ideally based near M62
Remuneration: £40,000-£44,000 + 10% Bonus
Benefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car & Full Benefits
Responsibilities
- Field sales position, selling epoxy resins and fillers for wood repair
- 40% of time spent winning specifications with predominantly quantity surveyors and architects and other specifiers within local authorities, heritage companies and property management organisations
- 30% stimulating demand for product with main contractors and specialist joinery and timber sub-contractors
- 20% managing relationships with paint manufacturers and conducting project visits and related admin
- 10% managing relationships with ~400 painting & decorating merchants (quarterly visits)
- Inheriting an area with a turnover of circa £500,000
- Aim to grow the area by 20%
- Initially 50% new business development, 50% account management
- Work in a buddy system with a Technical Account Manager for site inspections, surveys, and training
- Project sizes up to £30,000, with an average order value of £10,000-£20,000
- Social media savvy
Qualifications
- Field sales experience within the building products/construction industry (ideally 2+ years)
- Must have sold to contractors and/or specifiers and understand the specification sales process
- Ideally sold related products (e.g., resins, fillers, grouts, adhesives, coatings, paints or timber/joinery products)
- Experience selling a manufactured range (not from a merchant background)
- Ideally has contacts within quantity surveyors, architects, local authorities, heritage companies or property management organisations
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with main contractors or sub-contractors (joinery/timber)
- Outgoing, empathetic, with strong interpersonal skills
- Team player, comfortable working in a buddy system
