Role Summary

The role of the Area Sales Manager Tiles and Kitchen Worktops will involve:

• Field sales role selling a manufactured range of wall & floor ceramic tiles, and large format slabs for kitchen worktops
• 40% of your time managing and developing the established tile business in the South East which consists of circa 30 tile distributors who service customers buying direct from Spain (80% of turnover, approx. £750,000) and another 30‑35 independent bathroom retailers, where customers buy from UK subsidiary (another £350,000 turnover)
• 60% of your time new business development role, growing a small number of 3‑4 stonemasons / worktop fabricators to achieve a target at circa £250,000 year one of £500,000 year Two
• Circa 15 customer visits per week
• Overnight stays when required, and travel 3‑4 times a year to Spain and Italy
• Assisting with merchandising, training, developing and nurturing bathroom retailers as required

Qualifications

• Must have either tile or kitchen worktops field sales experience
• 2 years+ field sales experience
• Prior experience of having sold into tile distributors, merchants, retail showrooms, stonemasons or worktop fabricators
• Hardworking
• Honest
• Willing to travel / stay overnight when required
• Professional and prepared with strong organisation and territory management capability
• Prepared to do high UK mileage and happy to travel abroad when required
