The role of the Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating will involve:

Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of plastic piping systems for PVC above ground soil, waste drainage systems, water systems/ supply systems and off site fabrication services

Primarily targeting commercial buildings including offices, public buildings, hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, healthcare, education and student accommodation etc

65% Creating demand and building relationships with end users and M&E contractors

20-25% Back selling through plumbers merchants, such as Drain Center, Smith Brothers, Plumbase, BSS and Pipe Center

15% Influencing local authorities and M&E consultants

You will be responsible for circa 120+ M&E contractor accounts, although the majority of the business will come from the top 10-15

Inheriting an area only available due to an internal promotion, achieving £6m turnover

Market leader in above ground soils and waste drainage, but huge opportunity to grow new water services supply systems

75% Account Management role, 25% new business development

3-4 calls per day 3.5 days per week, 1.5 days working from home/ administration (specification work)

Plumbing or heating field sales experience with contractors

Must have sold into M&E contractors/ building services contractors

Distribution and manufacturing field sales representative backgrounds all of interest

Must have prior experience with M&E contractors, building services/ mechanical services

Experience of back selling through builders merchants and/or plumbers merchants not essential

Related sales experience of above ground drainage products like: above ground drainage, water supply systems, fabricated drainage systems, mechanical services, building services, boilers, valves, pumps, flues, tubes, fittings, sanitary-ware, above ground PVC soil & waste drainage, rain water harvesting, hot & cold water, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and water management solutions is not a pre-requisite

Open to all plumbing and heating backgrounds such as boilers, pumps etc.

High level of ability in terms of numeracy, IT capability, communication & organisational skills
