The Customer Service Coordinator is responsible for the smooth, efficient, and professional daily running of the customer service function. This role ensures that all customer interactions, sales order processing, and fulfilment coordination are completed accurately, on time, and to a high standard, supporting overall sales performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Communication
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the customer service function.
- Ensure all customer enquiries are handled promptly, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
- Include the relevant Account Manager on all customer communication.
- Pass all relevant customer enquiries to the appropriate Account Manager.
- Manage customer expectations through clear and proactive communication.
- Provide an excellent level of service to UK, Export, and POS customers.
- Order Processing
- Process all sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Issue order confirmations in a timely manner.
- Ensure internal systems are updated continuously with accurate dates and order details.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure orders are dispatched on time and meet customer requirements.
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation.
- Liaise with operations to ensure goods are dispatched with correct and complete paperwork.
- Sales & Business Insight
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to support achievement of sales targets.
- Notify management and relevant departments of any notable changes in customer demand or buying patterns.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in order processing or a similar administrative/sales support role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- Competent in using internal systems (ERP/CRM) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with export documentation.
- Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, or supply chain processes.
- Experience supporting sales teams or working in a commercial environment.
Location: Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 5AU. Please note that Mitchell & Cooper may at times ask you to step outside of your day-to-day role to help with exceptional circumstances, i.e. urgent enquiries/large orders with tight deadlines.
