Mitchell & Urwin is recruiting HGV Class 1 and Class 2 Drivers to join our busy Scaffolding Logistics Department, operating across our new build housing sites from our base at our Ferrybridge Hub.
Working across our fleet of new vehicles, you will make daily deliveries and collections of scaffolding materials to support our construction sites throughout Yorkshire. This is a hands-on role combining professional driving with the safe preparation, loading and unloading of materials using a trailer-mounted forklift.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering and collecting scaffolding materials across the Yorkshire region.
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a trailer-mounted forklift.
- Ensuring loads are safely positioned and secured for transport.
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting all defects promptly.
- Working closely with the scaffold yard team and site personnel.
- Maintaining accurate delivery and collection records.
- Representing Mitchell & Urwin professionally on the road and on site.
About you
You will be a reliable, safety-conscious driver who takes pride in your vehicle and your work. You must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and willing to take an active role in loading and unloading.
You should have:
- A valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence appropriate to the vehicle operated.
- A current Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
- A responsible approach to vehicle safety, load security and site procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience delivering scaffolding materials and operating a trailer-mounted forklift would be an advantage. Training will be provided, so we also welcome applications from drivers with relevant transferable experience and a willingness to learn.
