We are exclusively partnering with a business that is seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to hit the ground running. The business has experienced significant growth over the past three years, supported by external investment, and is set to continue on an accelerated trajectory. As part of this journey, you’ll play a key role in M&A activity, from due diligence through to systems migration and post-deal integration.

You’ll be entrusted with leading the finance function, developing and managing a capable team within a professional services environment. The business operates a time-billing model, working with senior fee-earners and top billers, so you’ll need to be commercially astute and comfortable partnering closely with stakeholders who drive revenue.

This role requires strong commercial acumen, as you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Managing Director to shape and lead commercial decision-making across the business. You’ll provide insight, challenge assumptions, and help drive performance as the business continues to scale.

Rapid growth has brought pace and complexity, requiring an experienced Financial Controller who is technically strong, able to implement robust controls, improve efficiencies, and confidently manage systems. You’ll also lead the finance integration of future acquisitions and support the business as it continues to grow through further investment and M&A. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel nationwide and attendance at key meetings as required by business needs.

What is required?

  • Background in larger or fast-growing businesses; private equity experience highly desirable
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience influencing senior stakeholders
  • Technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to identify issues others may miss
  • Experience leading large, complex audits
  • Comfortable operating in a professional services, time-billing environment

What you will receive:

  • Close collaboration with an experienced and impressive CFO
  • A seat at the table as part of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Autonomy to shape and mould the finance function
  • Exposure to a fast-paced, dynamic, PE-backed environment
