Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Legal Counsel to join our Legal team and focus primarily on Contracts & Commercial topics. As a member of our legal team (based in Paris or London), you will be instrumental in supporting our business in drafting contracts, agreements and terms to enable deal making and revenue generation, and in driving contracts negotiations and adaptation to evolving AI regulation and compliance. The role reports into our Director of commercial legal affairs based in Paris. The legal team currently comprises 30 persons across Paris, London, Singapore and Palo Alto, covering a spectrum of competences across regulatory, IP, contracts and corporate.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise the EMEA commercial legal team, providing case monitoring, first point of escalation, decision-making support and team coordination.
  • Drive the development of structural resources for the commercial legal team and for other stakeholders, including GTM teams and procurement.
  • Draft, update and provide strategic advice on a wide range of contracts, including AI-related service agreements.
  • Negotiate contracts (markup, arguments, strategies) with suppliers, partners, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product and compliance teams to stay updated on the latest AI-related legal and regulatory developments and guide their translation into contract adaptation and negotiation.
  • Provide training and support to the business on legal and compliance matters related to AI and on contract negotiation.

About You

  • Background: Master degree in law, bar admission is a plus, and experience in a fast-growing environment.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a technology or AI-focused environment involving contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence: Understanding of AI technologies and their applications, and good knowledge of applicable law such as data privacy, intellectual property, contract law, liability, regulation and compliance.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal and technical issues related to AI, identify potential legal risks and solutions, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex legal concepts in a clear, business-oriented manner.
  • International Mindset: International experience is a plus.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Proactive, flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethical Awareness: Strong understanding of ethical considerations related to AI, such as fairness, transparency, accountability and bias mitigation.
