The Company Mistev EHC is a company managed by veterinarians with vast experience in the industry as a regulator and on certification. Due to the Animal Plant and Health Agency (APHA) Specialist Resourcing Framework contract award, Mistev EHC is looking for prospective candidates to fill in temporary positions that may arise at any time within Lot 1 - Veterinary Personnel. Mistev EHC has a unique culture focused on the individuals, encouraged to take responsibility for their decisions, with great management support.
The role positions to fill in will come as mini-competitions, based on the quality of the CVs of prospective candidates and the cost of the service to the Agency. These positions can be:
- Senior Veterinary Inspector (APHA)
- Veterinary Investigation Officer (APHA)
- Field Veterinary Coordinator (FSS and FSA)
- Veterinary Auditor (FSS and FSA)
- Veterinary Manager (FSS only)
- Official Veterinarian (FSS only)
- Official Auxiliary/Meat Hygiene Inspector (FSS only)
- Official Veterinary Inspector (DAERA)
Although the advertised roles are for London, we are looking for interested candidates nationally (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
Responsibilities: These are role-specific and dependent on the length of the placement, as this may vary from days to months, up to a year, depending on the route selected for resourcing: Outbreak, Fast Stream or Normal, the latter being the longest in terms of deployment length.
Skills/Qualifications Required and Requisites: Veterinary medicine degree. As the requests require a fast mobilisation, the candidates will need to hold the following qualifications per role (of those listed above):
- All: Full membership of The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
- FSS and FSA Positions, apart from Official Auxiliary: Official Veterinarian qualification
- Official Auxiliary: Red Meat / Poultry Inspection qualification or equivalent (e.g. MRCVS, already trained in Meat Inspection)
- DAERA Position: Ideally Portal OV designation or, at least, Export Health Certification qualifications and experience in certifying Products of Animal Origin to EU and/or non-EU countries
