MissionAssist is a network of dedicated volunteers serving world mission from home. We provide services and resources that support Bible translation and a wide range of Christian mission organisations, at no cost to the mission workers. MissionAssist is a charity registered in England and Wales, with members mostly in the UK and also in over 50 other countries. MissionAssist is a member of the Wycliffe Global Alliance and the Evangelical Alliance.
Our services are delivered by volunteer teams, each with a service coordinator who liaises with clients and matches service requests with available team members. The range of services includes tutoring to assist with learning English for mission service, conversation practice for engaging in meetings, document translation in major languages, and short-term accommodation for mission workers visiting the UK.
The Head of Services supports the service coordinators, encourages the volunteer teams, and facilitates best practice across the services. The ideal Head of Services brings experience of leadership or coordination, enjoys supporting volunteers, and values collaboration in the service of shared mission goals, all with excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain supportive relationships with service coordinators.
- Handle questions, issues and any concerns arising from coordinators, teams or clients.
- Exercise good judgement and recognise when escalation is required.
- Consider service capacity, priorities, scope, continuity and succession planning.
- Provide regular updates to the CEO on service status, challenges and opportunities.
- Steady contribution - likely to average 4–8 hours per week.
- UK based or UK hours overlap - for conference calls arranged at mutually convenient times.
- No salary - expenses are paid.
