Want to use your HR expertise to make a genuine difference? Mission Search is working with a fantastic national charity with a strong purpose, supporting an organisation that is committed to creating positive change and having a meaningful impact. They’re looking for a Senior HR Officer to join their People & Culture team - and this is a role that offers much more than traditional HR administration.

If you're an HR professional who really enjoys Employee Relations, is confident advising managers and wants to work somewhere where people and purpose genuinely matter, this could be a great opportunity.

The role

You'll be a trusted HR adviser across the organisation, providing practical and proactive support to managers and colleagues. A big part of the role will be Employee Relations, with responsibility for managing your own caseload and advising on everything from investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters through to capability, absence, performance management and organisational change. But there's a real emphasis on early intervention and finding solutions. Rather than simply following a process, you'll help managers tackle issues early, have difficult conversations and resolve workplace challenges before they escalate. You'll also take the lead on end-to-end recruitment, working with hiring managers to identify requirements, develop and advertise vacancies, shortlist candidates and support the interview and selection process. Alongside this, you'll get involved in wider HR projects, policy development, manager training and day-to-day People & Culture activity.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience across Employee Relations
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience advising and coaching managers on people issues
  • A track record of using early intervention and informal resolution to resolve workplace challenges
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • The confidence to deal with sensitive and sometimes challenging situations
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to HR
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Experience within the charity, voluntary or purpose-led sectors would be advantageous, as would experience working with trade unions

Why join?

This is a genuinely attractive opportunity for someone who wants flexibility, purpose and variety in their next HR role. You'll receive:

  • £34,200 salary
  • Fully remote working – UK based
  • 25 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays, increasing to 30 days with long service
  • 7% employer pension contribution
  • Flexible and family-friendly working
  • Strong wellbeing and employee support
  • Occasional travel to London and elsewhere in England

And perhaps most importantly, you'll be joining an organisation where the work you do in HR contributes to a much bigger purpose.

Interested? If you're an experienced HR professional with a strong ER background and you're looking for a fully remote role where you can make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now or contact Mission Search for a confidential conversation about the opportunity.
