Mission Search is partnering with a large and expanding Multi-Academy Trust to recruit an experienced HR Consultant / HR Generalist to provide hands‑on HR support across its growing network of schools.
This is initially a 4-month fixed-term contract, with a genuine opportunity for the role to become permanent. An immediate start is available.
The role
Working as part of the Trust's HR function, you'll provide practical, responsive HR support to leaders and managers across a number of schools in the North West and Yorkshire.
It's a broad generalist position with a particular focus on employee relations and performance management. You'll build relationships with leaders across the Trust, helping them manage people issues effectively while ensuring a consistent and pragmatic approach to HR.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability matters
- Advising and coaching managers through performance management and people issues
- Providing hands‑on generalist HR support throughout the employee lifecycle
- Working closely with school and central leaders to provide practical, commercially minded HR advice
- Supporting HR projects and wider people initiatives as the Trust continues to grow
- Helping ensure HR policies and processes are applied consistently across different schools and locations
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable managing their own workload and providing confident advice to managers.
You'll ideally have strong ER and generalist HR experience, with the ability to build credibility quickly with stakeholders at different levels.
Previous experience within education or a Multi-Academy Trust would be advantageous, but isn't essential if you have the right generalist and ER background.
As the role involves travelling between different Trust sites across the North West and Yorkshire, you'll need to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
What's on offer?
Contract: 4-month FTC, with a view to becoming permanent
Working pattern: Hybrid – typically around 3 days working from home and 2 days across Trust sites
Location: North West & Yorkshire
This could be a particularly good opportunity for an HR Advisor, HR Consultant or HR Business Partner who enjoys being hands‑on with ER and working directly with managers, while also wanting the flexibility of predominantly home‑based working.
