Our client, a rapidly expanding Multi Academy Trust based in Greater Manchester, is seeking an experienced Estates Contracts Manager to join its growing central estates team. Following significant expansion in recent years, the Trust is investing in its central infrastructure and has created this brand-new role to develop a more strategic approach to estates contract management across its portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contract management professional to build and shape a centralised contract management function, working with key stakeholders to drive compliance, supplier performance and value for money.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll take ownership of the Trust's estates-related contracts, managing the full contract lifecycle while ensuring suppliers consistently deliver against agreed KPIs and service levels. You'll play a key role in developing a central contract management database and implementing robust systems and processes to support the Trust's continued growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing major estates contracts including catering, cleaning and statutory compliance services
  • Monitoring contractor performance through KPIs and regular review meetings
  • Developing and maintaining a central contract management system
  • Supporting procurement, tendering and contract renewal activities
  • Managing supplier relationships and resolving performance issues
  • Monitoring contract expenditure and identifying opportunities for efficiencies and savings
  • Working closely with schools and senior stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery across multiple sites

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience managing commercial or public sector contracts
  • Strong procurement and supplier management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing contract management processes and performance reporting
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently and influence at all levels

Experience within education is not essential. Applications are welcomed from candidates working within facilities management, local government, healthcare, housing, property or other multi-site organisations.
