Chemical Mixing Operator Location: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire Starter Rate: £13.44 per hour Trained Rate: £14.08 per hour Shifts: Monday–Friday, rotating weekly Hours: 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm Mission is on its way with a new opportunity for a Chemical Mixing Operator to join an established manufacturing business in Dewsbury. With a starting rate of £13.44 per hour, increasing to £14.08 per hour once trained, this role would suit someone looking to build their experience in chemical manufacturing, production or materials handling. The Role You'll be responsible for handling raw materials and supporting the mixing process to ensure products are made safely, accurately and on time. Working within the production team, you'll follow strict procedures for chemical handling, equipment operation and quality control. You'll also help maintain a clean and safe working environment while supporting the team in achieving daily production targets. What You'll Be Doing Handling and offloading raw materials safely and storing them in the correct locations. Supporting the chemical mixing and manufacturing process. Following standard operating procedures and relevant risk assessments. Understanding chemical hazards and following COSHH assessments and safety controls. Checking machinery guards, stops and safety features before use. Handling chemicals only after receiving the appropriate training. Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards. Ensuring all materials and finished products are correctly identified. Using, storing and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly. Completing production paperwork accurately throughout each shift. Reporting accidents, incidents, near misses and equipment issues to management. Keeping the working area clean and tidy while minimising waste and contamination risks. Supporting colleagues and helping train new team members when required. What We're Looking For Previous experience in manufacturing, production, chemical handling or a similar environment would be beneficial.
