£16.50 per hour rising to £17.50 after probation + Overtime + Commission

We are recruiting for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a successful materials handling company based in Dewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in forklift trucks, plant equipment, mechanical systems or similar machinery who is looking for a stable Monday to Friday role with excellent earning potential.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of customer equipment across the region. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned servicing and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
  • Attending customer sites to complete repairs and maintenance
  • Ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently
  • Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing excellent customer service and technical support
  • Managing your own workload while working independently

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience within engineering, maintenance or field service
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Professional and customer-focused approach

Desirable

  • Experience working on forklift trucks, plant equipment or materials handling machinery
  • Electrical fault-finding experience
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and industrial equipment
  • Relevant engineering qualifications
