A growing and well-established engineering business is looking to appoint a Team Leader / Contracts Engineer to support continued expansion across the food and pharmaceutical sectors. This is a long-term opportunity suited to someone looking to move away from short-term contract work and take ownership of projects, teams, and their own career progression.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality process installations for major, well-known clients, while leading a small, skilled team on-site.
As Team Leader / Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for managing on-site installation activities and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating a team of approximately 6 engineers on-site
- Planning and organising daily work schedules to meet project timelines
- Taking full ownership of Health & Safety on-site, ensuring compliance at all times
- Overseeing installation and engineering work within food and pharmaceutical environments
- Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Travelling to customer sites and working away when required
About You
This role requires a hands-on engineering professional with strong leadership capability and experience within process environments.
You will have:
- Proven background as a pipefitter, welder, or similar hands-on engineering role
- Experience leading or supervising small teams on-site
- Strong understanding of process installations within food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Solid knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to travel and stay away for project work when needed
- Residence within a commutable distance of Elland (approximately 1 hour)
