The Role
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering function while remaining hands-on and supporting the team with day-to-day challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and developing the engineering team
- Driving a proactive maintenance culture across the site
- Managing planned preventative maintenance schedules
- Reducing equipment downtime through effective fault finding and problem solving
- Supporting mechanical and electrical maintenance activities
- Working closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains
- Ensuring engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained
- Taking ownership of maintenance performance and improvements
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Leader
- Strong engineering background within a manufacturing, chemical or FMCG environment
- Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work alongside engineers when required
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to think outside the box
- Experience working within a fast-paced production environment
Desirable
- Basic PLC knowledge or PLC fault-finding experience (not essential)
- Experience with automated production equipment
- Background within chemical manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage or process manufacturing
- Experience driving continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
