We now have an exciting opportunity for a Care Assistant to join our incredible team at The Elms Care home working 35 hours per week, day shifts. Who we need:
Our wonderful team at The Elms care home is looking for a caring, approachable, enthusiastic Care Assistant to join their team. You’ll need a can-do attitude, with a drive and determination to learn new things and a passion to deliver high-quality person-centred care to our residents. Please be aware that you must have the right to work in the UK in order to apply.
What you’ll do:
- Supporting people with all aspects of their daily life, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility and meal times.
- The delivery of a high standard of support to our residents in all aspects of their care and daily living, including physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
- Assist in care planning demonstrating an understanding of person-centred care.
- Participate in providing a stimulating environment for residents.
- Promote holistic care for residents.
- Assist in bathing and dressing of residents respecting dignity.
- Assist residents at mealtimes.
- Correct use of hoists and manual handling needs.
- Adhere to Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) standards.
- Monitoring individuals' conditions by taking their temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and possibly helping with medication.
- Building effective relationships with relatives and next of kin in order to fully support the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
What we are looking for:
You don’t necessarily need qualifications to become a Care Assistant. What’s really important is that you’re kind, compassionate and thoughtful. It may help to have experience working in a nursing home environment and an understanding of dementia or a social care qualification. Don’t worry if you don’t have these though; if you’re interested, you can work towards them once you start and if you’re new to the care sector mandatory training will be provided.
