Overview

The Marketing Content Executive is responsible for creating engaging, audience-focused content that supports fundraising, supporter engagement and brand objectives across digital and offline channels. The role plays a key part in bringing MAF's mission and impact to life through compelling storytelling, effective marketing copywriting and content that inspires supporters to engage, give and advocate. Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Fundraising and Donor Experience, the role develops and adapts content for campaigns, supporter journeys, email communications, web pages, social media and printed materials, ensuring communications are creative, consistent and aligned with organisational priorities. The role also provides support for the development of supporter engagement activities and selected events, helping to create meaningful experiences that strengthen supporter relationships.

Salary:Β£32,510.27

Location: This role will be based at our Folkestone office, operating on a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days a week in the office.

Working Hours: Office open officially from 9am to 5.30pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am-4pm on Fridays.

Responsibilities

Campaigns and content

  • Write, edit and proof high-quality copy tailored to channel and audience ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment with brand tone and messaging; brief designers and videographers as needed.
  • Support in the maintenance of MAFs asset register and ensure brand consistency across the relevant touchpoints.
  • Support the creation of case studies and story gathering in collaboration with programme, communications and fundraising colleagues.
  • Create, update and maintain copy for content across multiple marketing channels, including website pages, email communications and campaign assets.

Digital marketing and analytics

  • Set up campaign tracking (e.g. UTM parameters, QR codes, short links) and ensure accurate tagging across channels.

Supporter journeys and fundraising collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with donor experience and supporter engagement colleagues to develop content that supports supporter journeys, appeals and stewardship, and improves engagement outcomes.
  • Help segment audiences and tailor content to increase engagement and Donor Income – one-off, regular and monthly.
  • Ensure supporter-facing content reflects organisational purpose, values and safeguarding standards.

Events

  • Support the Marketing & Events Coordinator in delivering supporter and fundraising events, including assisting with event preparation, materials, creative content and on-the-day delivery.
  • Contribute creative storytelling ideas and engagement concepts for supporter experiences and engagement tools, including the MAF Cube and future event activities.

Project management and ways of working

  • Champion cross-team collaboration and clear communication; develop simple checklists and templates to aid consistency.
  • Maintain orderly files and version control for campaign materials and approvals.

Brand, compliance and risk

  • Uphold brand, tone of voice and accessibility standards across all outputs.
  • Comply with GDPR, PECR and fundraising regulations; handle personal data securely and ethically.
  • Follow organisational policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusion.

Any other responsibilities as requested by your line manager.

  3. To keep line manager informed of all relevant and timely information.
  4. At all times comply with statutory requirements for handling personal and sensitive data in a confidential manner.
  5. To abide by MAF UK’s Safeguarding and Conduct Policies, and all other organisational policies provided on the Intranet.

Terms:

  • At least 36 hours with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid per week. Hours should be agreed with line manager according to the flexible working policy.
  • Flexibility will be required for working additional hours and travel to meet business needs or for travel or meetings etc. on weekends.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 22 days (158.4 hours) per year and 8 days (58.5 hours) paid public holidays per year.
  • Non-contributory pension scheme (10%) salary.

Probationary and notice period

  • 4-month probation period with monthly review points
  • 3-month notice period

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven marketing and fundraising copywriting and proofreading experience across web, email, social and print.
  • Experience collaborating across teams (e.g. Fundraising, Communications, Programmes).
  • Experience working with an agile framework, familiar with scrum and sprint methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a technical expertise in marketing copywriting; able to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using project management and content scheduling tools

Desireable:

  • Marketing, communications or related qualification (e.g. CIM).
  • Fundraising Qualification
  • Charity/voluntary sector experience – desirable.
