My client is a premier specialist used car dealership in Hertfordshire, renowned for their high-quality stock and exceptional customer service. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Master Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team.
This is a role for a true technical expert who takes pride in "right-first-time" workmanship. You will be responsible for everything from routine servicing to complex engine rebuilds and advanced diagnostics on a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
Working Hours: Standard hours are 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday. However, my client offers flexible scheduling options that can extend up to 19:00 and include Saturdays, with a maximum of 09:00 – 19:00, Monday to Saturday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Mechanical - Full vehicle servicing, brakes, exhausts, tyres, and suspension systems.
- Transmission & Timing - Clutch replacements, as well as timing belt and chain installations.
- Ancillaries - Replacement of water pumps, thermostats, turbos, and intake manifolds.
- Major Repairs - Cylinder head gaskets and full engine rebuilds.
- Diagnostics - Using advanced hardware to identify and rectify complex mechanical and electronic faults.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Electrical - Ability to troubleshoot and repair fuses, relays, sensors, and control modules.
- Coding & Adaptations - Proficient in battery registration, injector coding, and component adaptations.
- Software - Experience with ECU mapping and performance tuning.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven track record as a Senior or Master Technician, preferably within a specialist or multi-brand environment.
- Ability to work to deadlines without compromising on the quality of the repair.
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
- Able to explain technical issues clearly to the service team.
