My client based in Ware is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong Sage 50 experience, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to grow their career across all areas of finance. Working in a modern, collaborative office, this role offers broad exposure across sales ledger, VAT, monthly payroll, and expenses, making it the perfect opportunity for a proactive team player seeking continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboard new customer accounts, issue pro-forma and project invoices, and handle customer account queries.
- Assist with quarterly domestic VAT return preparation and support overseas VAT administration.
- Set up new starters, process amendments, run monthly payroll using Sage 50, and manage pension file uploads and employee queries.
- Process employee credit card and mileage claims, maintain petty cash reconciliations, and support the implementation of an expenses portal.
- Maintain paperless digital filing systems, assist with National Statistics returns, and assist with general finance duties.
Candidate Requirements:
- AAT Level 3 qualification (or studying towards), with a strong desire to learn and develop skills.
- Hands-on experience using Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational abilities, precision with numbers, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively, maintain strict confidentiality, and work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
