Fantastic opportunity for an experienced credit controller to work for this established Distribution Company in Stevenage. Responsible for ensuring that invoices are collected to the agreed terms of payment set by the business. This role requires someone that can confidently communicate with customers, works well as part of a team, and can liaise with other departments within the business to resolve queries. The role requires a good eye for detail, the ability to work well under pressure and prioritising the workload.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring that invoices are collected to agreed terms of payment.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, credit notes, and RMAs to maximize cash collections.
  • Prompt resolution of customer queries by liaising with other departments within the business.
  • Raising manual invoices and credit notes to customers.
  • Running credit checks for the opening of new accounts and credit revaluations.
  • Ensuring all cash is posted daily for accurate account balances and that remittances are requested.
  • Supporting all payments received where necessary to correctly allocate payments.
  • Monthly sending of customer statements or as required to customers.
  • Daily upload of UKS entity invoices to Invoice Financing Facility in line with agreed process.
  • Uploading invoices to customer portals and the management of the portal assigned to you.
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts.
  • Taking credit card payments.
  • Customer refunds - Raising manual invoices and credit notes.
  • Ensuring all credit balances are identified to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader where no immediate solution is available.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Accounts Receivable Team Leader.

The Ideal Person:

  • 2-3 years experience in credit control - looking for more responsibility.
  • Excellent team player – happy to help out.
  • Extremely customer focused – someone with a desire to get things right first time.
  • A knowledge of Infor 10 would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Above average ability with maths and English!
