Are you a commercially sharp Buyer with a passion for electronic components, supplier negotiation and building resilient supply chains? You will take ownership of costings, negotiation and strategic sourcing across electronic components, helping to secure the best pricing, availability and lifecycle management while supporting kitting projects for key customer accounts.
The business is an established and expanding global organisation within electronics distribution, partnering with customers across Defence, Aerospace, Automotive and Medical sectors. They support leading OEM and EMS companies with global product sourcing and traceability, electronic product design, logistics and supply-chain management, alongside in-house anti-counterfeit testing and product obsolescence management.
What you’ll be doing
- Strategic sourcing and cost management
- Source electronic components with a strong focus on cost, quality, availability and lead times.
- Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements and commercial terms to deliver measurable year-on-year savings.
- Track market movement, identify PPV opportunities and work with franchised and global sourcing teams to maximise value.
- Own kitting projects for assigned customer accounts, ensuring accurate, timely and commercially effective fulfilment.
- Supply chain resilience and risk mitigation
- Use CalcuQuote to create, manage and track RFQs efficiently.
- Use Z2Data to support lifecycle analysis, obsolescence management and alternative part identification.
- Tackle shortages, allocation issues and lead-time pressures by securing secondary sources or recommending suitable substitutes.
- Build strong supplier relationships that protect continuity of supply and reduce risk.
- Collaboration and business growth
- Work closely with the franchised team to identify and support upselling opportunities.
- Support customers and engineering teams with market intelligence, component alternatives and cost-effective solutions.
- Contribute ideas and insight that strengthen procurement strategies and support wider business growth.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in electronic components procurement or buying.
- Confident negotiation, analytical thinking and cost management skills.
- Experience using CalcuQuote, Z2Data or comparable RFQ, lifecycle and obsolescence tools.
- A good understanding of electronic component market trends, lead times and supply chain risks.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities across kitting, BOM analysis and supplier management in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to engage with suppliers, internal teams and customers.
