We are thrilled to be partnering with a rapidly growing, dynamic business based in Shefford to recruit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor. Our client has seen fantastic expansion and is now looking to strengthen their leadership team. This is a unique, collaborative role where you will work directly alongside an established Warehouse Supervisor to co-manage, oversee, and coordinate daily warehousing activities.
Ideally, the successful candidate will bring a background in warehouse leadership and a "lead by example" mentality. In this position, you will be trusted with the shared responsibility of driving workshop performance, motivating the team of warehouse operatives, and maximising output and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Leading, motivating, and training warehouse operatives, while setting a high standard for productivity and measuring performance to report back to management.
- Managing all stock across the warehouse, containers, and external yards, ensuring everything is correctly located using a digital stock management system.
- Overseeing strict compliance with all goods-in and goods-out processes to assure quality control and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Managing the unloading of incoming containers and handling stock transit between business sites, which includes driving a 3.5t Luton Van.
- Ensuring the warehouse, yard, and operational spaces are kept in a safe, tidy condition, coordinating routine inspections, and maintaining forklifts and essential equipment.
- Conducting stock audits, inventory reconciliations, and actively suggesting procedural updates to boost daily efficiency.
The successful candidate will have:
- A solid track record in a warehouse supervisor, team leader, or senior leadership role within a logistics or distribution environment.
- A valid UK Driving License and a Counterbalance Forklift License.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Excel and warehouse software packages.
- Experience handling basic HR activities, including conducting performance reviews, appraisals, and navigating disciplinary or grievance processes.
- A hands-on commitment to getting the job done, with the physical fitness required to confidently handle and move large, heavy warehouse stock items.
- Exceptional communication and team-building skills, with the ability to take direction, use your own initiative, and confidently train and mentor staff.
