My client is a market leading distributor of products to manufacturing clients within the Defence, Automotive, Medical and Construction industries. Established for 30 years, they now employ over 180 staff worldwide and have a turnover of £200 million. This role is based in a clean and bright warehouse environment, where you will be working in a close-knit team. Once products have been ordered from suppliers around the world, they will then arrive in the Goods In department, and it is at this point, the role of the Material Inspector begins.

Duties:

  • Follow all SOPs relating to material handling and inspection.
  • Carry out in-depth inspections in line with PR9 Lite, PR9 Lite+, PR9, PR9+, AS6081, AS6081 MOD, AS6171 and customer specifications.
  • Perform detailed non-trace inspections including part number, date code, packaging, labelling and condition checks.
  • Accurately record inspection results within systems.
  • Escalate non-conformances promptly.
  • Maintain safe working practices.
  • Booking in new deliveries.
  • Assistance in training processes of new recruits as required and defined by your Team Leader/Operations Manager.
  • Communicate clearly with other departments around shipping or process queries.

The Ideal Person:

  • Ability to work to set guidelines.
  • A great attention to detail.
  • Happy to work in a repetitive way.
  • Computer literate - You must have a good working knowledge of Outlook and the ability to learn other core applications as required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work within a team.

Desirable:

  • ERP knowledge - although this is trainable and not essential.
  • Business systems and practice.
  • Knowledge of electronic components.

Hours of work: 7.30am until 4pm
