Working Hours: Monday- Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Workshop Labourer to join a busy and expanding steel manufacturing business in Hertford. This is a Temp-to-Perm position starting immediately. If you are someone who turns up on time every day, grafts hard, and brings a great attitude to work, you will secure yourself a full-time permanent contract. Once permanent, you'll benefit from full ongoing training, skilled trade development, and clear opportunities to step up in both pay and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely loading, securing, and unloading commercial vehicles and vans with finished steelwork and manufacturing goods ready for delivery.
  • Knocking steel/metal frames together, assembling basic components, and preparing fabricated products for final finish or dispatch.
  • Moving heavy raw materials, completed goods, and tooling around the workshop, storage yards, and production areas.
  • Ensuring all workstations, loading bays, and walkways are kept clear, clean, and safe at all times in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Assisting skilled fabricators, machinery operators, and workshop supervisors with day-to-day operations and using basic hand/power tools as required.
Requirements:
  • Excellent time management skills, punctual, and able to work efficiently to hit daily loading, dispatch, and workshop deadlines.
  • Capable of heavy manual handling, lifting, and continuous physical work throughout the day.
  • Highly driven, proactive, dependable, and not afraid of hard work.
  • Clear communicator, keen to learn new skills, follow instructions accurately, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment and operating basic hand tools safely.
