Our client is a well-established and growing business based in Hertford, looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their close-knit team of 11. Reporting directly to the Director, this is a key role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and play an important part in supporting the continued growth of the business. This Finance Manager role is ideal for a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys a varied position combining hands-on accounting, financial reporting, team support and business partnering. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, provide valuable financial insight, and make a real impact within a friendly and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day finance operations and support the wider finance function.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
- Produce financial reports and provide insight to Directors and senior management.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Manage payroll, PAYE reporting, pension administration and HMRC submissions.
- Complete VAT returns and support wider compliance requirements.
- Oversee supplier payments, cash flow management and FX requirements.
- Monitor customer credit limits, debt and invoice discounting facilities.
- Support and develop members of the finance team.
- Work closely with Operations and other departments across the business.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A minimum of 5 years experience within finance, ideally within a senior finance role.
- Fully AAT qualified and working towards or completed ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse data and produce accurate reports.
- Experience managing and developing staff.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage a varied workload.
