Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time, based on experience)

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Minimum 3 days per week to 5 days per week)

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organised Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to support our financial controller and ensure the efficient operation of our office. This dual-responsibility role offers a diverse range of tasks, from managing daily financial transactions to providing essential administrative support.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable professional with a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and a keen eye for detail. You'll be comfortable managing multiple tasks, possess excellent communication skills, and be adept at using accounting software. Key Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to and support the Group Financial Controller.
  • Assist with audit requirements and preparations.
  • Support the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external accountants as needed.
  • Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Perform timely reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts.
  • Efficiently process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting.
  • Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements (as needed).
  • Assist with and support the sales order process.
  • Undertake general office duties and non-finance administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth operations.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Office Assistant, or similar role.
  • A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, ideally demonstrated by Level 3 AAT qualification or strong practical experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage experience is highly desirable).
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost integrity.
