Job Description

We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Female* Shared Housing Support Worker to join our team based in Bristol. You will join us on a full-time, permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, and be part of our out of hours on call team, working on a rota basis. In return you will receive a competitive salary of Point 12 £28,598 per annum and benefits.

About The Role

We are looking for a positive and dynamic Shared Housing Support Worker who will support women with housing and mental health support needs living within our houses as part of Bristol City Council’s Homelessness Pathway initiative.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Female* Shared Housing Support Worker

  • Use the Housing Support Register (HSR) to identify eligible service users and ensure all referral and assessment information is regularly updated on the HSR.
  • To carry out assessments that effectively establish the support needs of applicants, identify risks, and enable support to be offered as quickly as possible.
  • Engage, empower and support women in a creative, consistent and assertive way to ensure that positive outcomes are achieved.
  • In conjunction with the service user develop the relevant Outcomes Star and support plan to achieve identified outcomes, review the plan regularly and record changes agreed.
  • Provide recovery orientated support, trauma and psychologically informed interventions and practical support to individual women on your caseload.
  • As a key member in an integrated team be alert and responsive to the needs of the wider service and service users in the accommodation.
  • Sign up new licensees / tenants using the agreed occupancy agreement, advise residents on rights and obligations of the agreement including responsibilities around payment of rent and support women to settle into their accommodation.
  • Be responsible for specific supported housing properties as allocated, ensuring a supportive, homely and safe environment is maintained and a daily staff presence provided in each shared house.

What we are looking for in our ideal Female* Shared Housing Support Worker

  • Experience of key working in the fields of mental health, housing or support services
  • Experience of empowering women to make positive changes focused on recovery
  • An understanding of the specific needs of women
  • The ability to effectively manage urgent situations
  • The ability to work on a on call rota once in every 6-12 weeks (subject to change)
  • A current, full driving licence and access to an appropriate vehicle is essential
