The Managing Associate position will work within the Corporate team in the Dubai office. The practice spans a wide range of sectors including private and growth capital, technology, gaming, innovation, retail, hospitality & leisure, real estate, healthcare and education. We work with business owners, family offices, UHNWIs and equity investors, as well as private, institutional, government and quasi-government entities in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the U.S.
The Role is an exciting and varied position, involving both transactional and advisory work including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, market entry re-organisations and general corporate advisory. The successful candidate will be committed to developing their career within corporate law within the region and will be able to demonstrate their passion for and experience in this area.
Responsibilities- Provide transactional and advisory support in corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, market entry reorganisations and general corporate advisory.
- Lead transactions on a day-to-day basis and project manage effectively.
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels; maintain high standards of client service.
- Work independently and as part of a team; build relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
- Demonstrate resilience under pressure and maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Contribute to business development activities both internally and externally where appropriate.
- 5+ years PQE gained within a leading corporate practice at an internationally reputable law firm.
- A broad range of corporate transactional and advisory experience, including M&A and private equity/growth capital, ideally in the sectors outlined above.
- Experience of leading transactions on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong project management and due diligence experience.
- Excellent organisational and prioritising skills to manage demanding internal and external clients and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including clients.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage own workload.
- Commitment to high standards of client care and service in a professional and friendly manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; personable and confident in building relationships.
- Resilient and calm under pressure; adaptable and flexible; proactive with initiative.
