The Head of Partnership Finance works closely with the CFO and other senior management in partnership accounting and tax affairs of the Firm. Leading a small team of specialists, this role is ultimately accountable for delivering results in partnership finance, tax, and advisory functions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee partnership finance and reporting of partner remuneration, payments, capital contributions, and other partner balances for over 250 partners globally; lead on Remote Earnings Management (REM) from a finance perspective.
- Proactively lead the Firm's tax affairs; collaborate with finance team to deliver first-class service.
- Act in an advisory capacity to senior stakeholders, including Board level, on strategic projects related to mergers, acquisitions, and other international initiatives.
- Manage partners’ financial affairs—draws, distributions, profit reserving, and partnership capital.
- Ensure compliance of all filing requirements across jurisdictions; work with advisers as necessary.
- Prepare and submit partners' UK and international tax returns; address any issues raised by partners or tax authorities promptly.
- Liaise with external advisers on global tax reporting for partners.
- Manage the process of onboarding and exiting partners.
- Calculate UK and international tax payments to relevant authorities, including payments on account.
- Lead the REM process from a finance perspective.
- Monitor the potential consequences of changes to tax legislation; advise the business on appropriate actions.
- Support direct reports and manage relationships with the Firm's professional advisers to maximize value.
- Contribute to advisory projects such as structuring new developments, acquisitions, financing, capital allowance projects, and transfer pricing.
Qualifications
- Relevant recognised qualification such as ATT, CTA, ADIT, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Experience working with senior (executive level) business stakeholders, demonstrating gravitas and presence to inspire confidence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels; capable of dealing with people in a calm, professional and effective manner.
- Ability to demonstrate strategic-level thinking and influence executive-level stakeholder decisions.
- Ability to resolve problems methodically and logically.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong commercial skills.
