We are looking for an international employment lawyer (1-3 PQE) to join our growing business. If you are someone who enjoys being an employment lawyer but wants to find a career in law where the focus is less on traditional law and more on solving (often complex) employment law problems in a pragmatic and commercial way, in an international context, then this role may be for you.
We are looking for an international employment specialist (or someone who has done some international work), who thinks and works differently to traditional employment lawyers and would like to find a home with like‑minded, highly skilled people. You’ll be working with clients and local counsel daily on varied work from across the globe. You’ll help clients shape solutions to tricky people issues. You’ll analyse local counsel input and deliver pragmatic, solutions‑focused advice to our clients. You’ll help to guide (employment) M&A matters to a smooth conclusion. You’ll manage a varied workload including terminations, investigations, works council issues, M&A/TUPE deals, litigation, projects, contracts, handbooks, privacy issues, cross‑border projects and much more.
We welcome and encourage creativity and ideas, so this is an ideal route for demonstrating your initiative and getting noticed for it. Please note that this job profile is not an exhaustive list of duties but merely an outline of the key components of the role. You may be required by your line manager to take on additional responsibilities when requested.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in the UK or another major jurisdiction.
- 1‑3 years PQE (although this is just a guide).
- In‑house experience would be great, as would experience within an international employment team in private practice.
- Ideally you will have some experience working on international employment law matters – even if it is limited.
- Experience working as part of, or closely with in‑house employment teams would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
- We work in English, but if you have additional language skills, that’s a bonus.
