The Senior Business Development & Growth Executive (Content) is a key member of the Innovation Department's BD function, responsible for driving the firm's profile, reputation and business pipeline through high-quality content and knowledge assets.
The role holder will lead in preparation of legal and practice specific directories and awards, submissions, proposals, pitches and credentials materials, as well as driving the department's thought leadership and wider content strategy, working closely with the department's Knowledge Lawyers., Directories & Rankings
- Lead the department's directories programme (including Legal 500, Chambers and Partners and other relevant publications) end-to-end, including timetabling, stakeholder management, submission drafting and editorial liaison.
- Maintain and continuously improve a bank of matter examples, client references and lawyer profiles for use across submissions and other BD materials, particularly to enhance our pitches and credentials.
- Track and analyse rankings outcomes, producing insight reports for the Practice Groups and Department.
- Proposals, Pitches & Credentials
- Work with Business Development Manager and Central Pitch Manager to support the pitch and proposal process for the department, working closely with partners and associates to develop compelling, client-focused responses.
- Regularly maintain and develop the firm's credentials library, ensuring materials are current, accurate and appropriately tailored for different sectors, geographies and service lines.
- Bring insights and skill to help convert pitch and proposal opportunities, owning the scoping, drafting and formatting of high-quality content.
- Thought Leadership and Content Production
- Develop and execute the department's thought leadership and content strategy, working with subject matter experts across practice groups to produce high-quality content assets.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure thought leadership is effectively packaged and distributed across relevant digital and print channels.
- Collaborate with team members to develop compelling content for strategic initiatives including campaigns, events and sales to support and drive prospect and client engagement, project managing tasks across central BD functions and Knowledge to create key content.
- Regularly review and update the department's practice group web pages, individual profiles and digital marketing collateral, ensuring content remains accurate, current, and aligned with strategic positioning.
This is a senior individual contributor role requiring a commercially astute, detail-oriented professional with deep experience of producing and leveraging BD content in a professional services or legal environment.
You will be required to be resilient, confident, and comfortable in your dealings with senior people, with a focus on building successful and productive working relationships, balancing competing priorities and flexing your style as required.
Effective communication and team-working, energy, with great visibility and a can-do attitude will be the key to success in this role.
- Possess a minimum of 4 years' BD or marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment, with a demonstrable specialism in content, directories and proposal management.
- Proven track record of managing complex, high-profile directory submissions and pitch processes.
- Strong understanding of the legal market, including key sectors, client drivers, and competitive landscape.
- Experience developing and executing thought leadership programmes., Commercially driven, with strong results orientation and ability to link BD activity to measurable business outcomes.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and technical concepts into clear, compelling content.
- Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Collaborative and confident in influencing senior stakeholders, including partners.
- Proficient in CRM systems, content management platforms, and Microsoft Office suite.
