Mishcon de Reya is one of the UK's best-known law firms, representing some of the most famous people on the planet. The firm focuses on three interconnected sectors: the Innovation Economy, Private Wealth and Capital, and Real Estate, as outlined in the firm's strategy, 'Vision 2030'. Known as a disputes powerhouse, it has a formidable capacity for dispute resolution and is located in key centres of innovation and capital including London, Cambridge, Oxford, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE.
The main focus of this role is on social media - planning, creating, and posting engaging content that positions Mishcon de Reya as a leader in our fields and reinforces our unique brand essence: bold, creative, innovative, and deeply client-focused. You will also play a key part in producing and curating content for internal communications, helping to engage and inform our people across the firm.
Our content should resonate with our audiences, reflecting their interests and the issues that matter most to them - appearing on the channels they use, in the formats they digest.
We are looking for a creative content executive who will be part of a small but agile Communications Team. The successful candidate will report into the Communications Manager and support the work of the Communications Director (job share).
You will primarily be responsible for planning and producing high-quality, brand-consistent creative content for use across our digital platforms to inform, engage, and influence our audiences. You will also work closely with our Events team, Marketing team, Digital Marketing Team, wider Business Development team, and our fee earners to ensure content is aligned with the firm's activities and objectives.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Content strategy and campaigns: Work with the rest of the team and external agencies to deliver creative, brand-consistent digital campaigns and content plans that meet agreed objectives and are delivered to the highest standard.
- Write clear, effective briefs for external agencies and oversee their work.
- Explore and leverage a wide range of digital channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube, to maximise reach and engagement.
- Recommend and oversee paid social activity, including managing the associated budget and reporting on performance.
- Social media and digital channel management: Manage and grow Mishcon de Reya's social media channels, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
- Create a schedule of social posts using 'the grid', our content/marketing activities planner, to ensure consistent and timely output across all channels.
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics and Hootsuite, providing actionable recommendations for continual improvement in our digital output.
- Monitor social media channels for reputational risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Ensure all content and activity complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and brand guidelines.
- Maintain our digital content archive, ensuring all assets are organised and accessible.
- Collaboration and internal engagement: Support internal communications and firm-wide campaigns to engage diverse audiences.
- Play an active role in the communications team, including managing the communications team inbox, reviewing and publishing content, and responding to press and internal communication priorities as needed.
- Training: Advise and train lawyers and other colleagues on optimising their LinkedIn profiles, video skills, and personal digital presence.
- Conduct interviews with colleagues to create authentic, people-focused content that showcases our culture and expertise.
- Provide expert advice to ensure all creative content and materials are inclusive and accessible.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend and support some events, photo and video shoots, which may occasionally require out-of-hours work.
Skills/Experience
- 1-3 years' experience working in a paid social media and/or communications role, and/or with a background in design/creative.
- A good understanding of key social media platforms, including how the algorithms work, popular/emerging formats, tools, and trends.
- Strong digital creative skills, ideally including proficiency in creating graphics and videos (e.g. with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, Figma or similar tools).
- Ability to create and manage a schedule of social posts, ensuring alignment with wider marketing activities and priorities.
- Excellent communication and written skills with an ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues across the firm and agency partners.
- Organised, resilient, and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage various projects and be flexible in order to meet demanding deadlines.
- An eye for how we can improve our digital content, processes, and a motivation to continue finding new ways to increase engagement from our target audiences.
- Ability to work independently, but also be able to play a key role in a busy, agile, and lively team.
- A positive, 'can do' attitude, willing to 'muck in' to support the work of other colleagues in the communications team.
- A creative mind and a keen eye for design.
- Photography skills and experience in capturing high-quality images for use across digital channels would be desirable.
Please note that this job profile is not an exhaustive list of duties but merely an outline of the key components of the role. You may be required by your line manager to take on additional responsibilities when requested.
