Department
The Remuneration and Incentives team sits within the Employment department at Mishcon de Reya and works closely with the corporate department, particularly on transactional matters and early-stage business support.
Our experts are also part of the firm's tax practice.
The team is primarily based in our London office, with a growing presence across our Oxford and Cambridge offices, supporting clients nationally and internationally.
Our Work
We provide wide-ranging tax and legal advice support to companies, designing, drafting and implementing full suites of statutory and bespoke equity incentives and cash-based bonus plans for employees, NEDs and consultants.
We support employers in de-risking and optimising remuneration arrangements, aligning award terms with governance requirements, and crafting onboarding offers and termination packages.
We also advise individual executives and non-executives on equity incentive elements, helping negotiate favourable outcomes.

We advise businesses across all sectors including entertainment, life-sciences, technology, fashion, energy, private equity and an expanding portfolio of innovation-led and emerging growth companies, both private and quoted, globally and domestically.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone curious, driven and eager to grow in this space.
Experience in incentives is a pre-requisite; some background in employment taxes or corporate work is helpful.
We value potential and welcome applicants from legal or tax backgrounds.
Strong written and verbal communication, organisation, and commitment to client care are essential.
Real responsibility from day one and a collaborative spirit are required.
- Attributes
- Demonstrable passion for employee incentives and share plans work.
- 2-5 years PQE gained at a reputable law firm or tax practice.
- Background working in or exposure to employee incentives and share plans is essential.
- Experience with advisory matters such as design and implementation of incentive structures; exposure to corporate transactions (take-privates, M&A, IPOs) highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of employment taxes and tax relating to employee share plans beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent writing and drafting abilities.
- Ability to manage own workload and undertake a truly client-facing role.
- Effective communication with people at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to coach and supervise trainees.
- Personable and confident, building relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
- Resilient and calm under pressure.
